It's rumored that Paul McCartney and Billy Joel will be there.

I don't know if it's been confirmed or not.

It wasn't confirmed when I came to work this morning,

but I came to work at 4.30 this morning,

so who knows what might have happened between then and now.

But we have with us someone who knows a whole lot about music,

and that is Scott Shannon,

legendary morning personality of New york's z100 w plj and w cbs fm uh good morning to you scott and good morning to you and what an

excellent job you are doing today i was uh rather just amazed how easily it is for you, how easy it is for you to

move from one chair, a rock and roll chair, right into talk radio. Well, thank you, Scott. But,

you know, like you, I just love the radio. The radio has always been my friend and my companion.

Since I was a little kid,

I listened to it then and loved it. I listened to it now and love it. And you, of course,

with your legendary career, you were not only involved in radio, but you were also involved in the actual music industry for a while and you know can you come

up with radio go ahead radio is my first love it's it's been that way since i was a kid and that's

all i wanted to do i i didn't want to be a uh uh a uh a gm i don't want to do bob pitman's job i just wanted to be a GM. I don't want to do Bob Pittman's job. I just wanted to be a, you know, a

jock. I wanted to be on the radio and, and I love music. It's part of my blood, but it's just you

got to be on the radio to play it. So, right. And, and I was. And I was just wondering how you felt about the fact that the New York Times published their list of the 30 greatest living American songwriters, and they left Billy Joel off that list.

Well, I've said it quite a few times on my show.
