So Jill's story is one where the influence of other people becomes a big reason of why she's

involved in the mixed messaging early on. And it's also an interesting story when it comes to the

in-laws in this story and their influence on her abusive husband and the passing down of a lot of patriarchal

values as being quote unquote a normal as I guess the best way to put it so with that now all being

said I'm going to get out of my way and your way Jill the floor is now yours. Okay, yeah. So my childhood, I was born in the 70s. My parents

were high school sweethearts. They graduated high school and moved in together, and they both came

from, you know, 50s households with alcoholism. And so they did their best. They were, of course,

a hot mess, as 18-year-olds will be when they get married, you know. But they loved us,

and they cried their best. And some wacky things happened. And I wouldn't say it was great, but I felt like I could kind of cling to my sanity.
