Summary

“Don’t You care about what’s happening to me?” If you’ve ever said those words to God, you’re not alone. In fact, Jesus’ disciples said those very words when a great storm threatened to end their lives prematurely. And Jesus’ words are just as relevant to us today as they were to them two thousand years ago. As we begin, find a quiet place and take a deep breath as we enter into God's presence.

Mark Chapter 4. On that day, when evening had come, Jesus said to them, let us go across to the other side.

And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat just as he was, and other boats were with him,

and a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat so that the boat was

already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him,

teacher, don't you care that we're perishing?

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, peace, be still.

And he said to them, why are you so afraid?

Have you still no faith? And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, who then is this that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Lord Jesus, I praise you that you are the one who commands the winds and the waves.

You are the one who created the earth.

You're the one who created everything in creation and everything obeys you there's no molecule in this universe or in any universe that can disobey you because you are lord

above all you are seated on your throne and you still reign. And Lord God,

we praise you for that. So take a few moments now to praise God for how he has shown his

goodness in your life recently.

So Lord God, we just confess our fear. We confess our lack of faith,

just like the disciples in the boat. We take our eyes off of you and we look at the storm. And like Peter,

we sink in the waves when we take our eyes off of you. And Lord, we need help. We need you to help us fix our eyes on you, the author and perfector of our faith. Like the father of that sick child,
