Hello and welcome to the Safe Original Sunday podcast. As the NHS celebrates its 70th birthday,

I sat down with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn to discuss the State of the Health Service and his plans for its

future. We also spoke about Brexit and the World Cup.

Now Labor has always traditionally been seen as the party of the NHS.

The service was founded 70 years ago under a Labour Prime Minister

and opinion polls consistently show that Labour is trusted more than the Conservatives on the issue of health.

But the Tories are trying to change perceptions.

This month they announced a 3.4% increase in funding as part of that.

That left Labour in a bit of a pickle for once playing catch-up with the government on the NHS.

So when I sat down with Jeremy Corbyn, I was keen to ask him about Labour's plans,

particularly given that he was coming fresh from a rally in London to mark the Health Services' 17th birthday.
