Hello and welcome to the Sophie Original Sunday podcast.

After the government struck a deal with rebels to get a key bit of Brexit legislation through Parliament and with the crucial EU Council summit coming up this week, I travelled to Somerset to speak to the committed Brexiteer and International Trade Secretary Liam Fox.

This week felt a bit like Groundhog Day.

There was a knife-edge vote in the Commons, the rebels didn't rebel, all signs claimed victory after a compromise that felt a bit more like a fudge.

And then Boris Johnson reluctantly penned a newspaper article

to remind us that he has a few ideas on Brexit.

Nothing new to see here then.

But it does feel as though the Brexit temperature is ramping up.

The painfully technical arguments about the meaningful vote

gave an indication of the battle to come in the autumn,

while Theresa May will this week attend

the EU Council where there will be precious little progress to shout about. After that comes
