Summary

Talking points: transition, moving from the Congo to America, equality, masculinity, and relationships. This was a phenomenal conversation. Full stop. Jeremie and I cover a lot of ground, and I'm grateful to have his insight and perspective on men's work. It's nuanced, clear, and deeply authentic. Jeremie Lotemo is a transformation coach helping clients create lasting change by examining the stories and beliefs that influence them on an unconscious level. He works to help them reestablish safety in the body in order to recognize these beliefs and release them completely. Before becoming a coach, Jeremie was an account manager for one of the fastest-growing marketing agencies in Atlanta, eventually developing his own agency. For years, he helped clients use advertising to influence the behavior of their customers. This led him to analyze how much of his own life, choices, and ambitions were a product of someone else’s story. He left advertising and now uses his skills to help others write a story that’s entirely their own. All right, team, welcome back to The Man Talk Show. I'm Connor Bieden, and as you can probably tell, I'm a little under the weather.

0:17.2

I'm a pretty bad cold, which is adding a little bit of base to the voice.

0:25.2

So we're going to make the intro a little quick today. But joining me is Jeremy Latamo.

0:30.1

And he's phenomenal. We had a really phenomenal conversation, really interesting.

0:34.2

We went in a few different directions. So let me tell you about him briefly and then about the conversation that we had. Currently, Jeremy is a transformational coach.

0:38.1

He speaks a lot to men and women about masculine, feminine dynamics, about relationships.

0:43.3

But before that, he was an account manager for one of the fastest growing marketing

0:46.7

agencies in Atlanta.

0:48.5

And he also opened up and owned his own agency and had the opportunity to work with and collaborate with

0:55.2

amazing brands, artists, entrepreneurs, and art galleries. But now as a transformational coach,

1:00.3

he helps clients create lasting change in their lives and in their relationships.

1:05.3

So our conversation wasn't necessarily about that, though. We started off by talking about

1:10.8

Jeremy's early life

1:12.4

and the culture shock of being a young man, being a boy, as a part of a family system,

1:19.0

moving from the Congo in Africa all the way to Portland, Oregon, which I thought, man,

1:25.8

that must have been a jarring experience. So we talked

1:27.6

quite a bit about that. Growing up in that environment, you know, the sort of cross-cultural

1:32.4

aspect of what that must have been like. Then his family moved to Atlanta, where he spent

1:38.6

his teenage years and a good part of his life. So we really got into a little bit about

1:43.9

his personal story, which I found to be really fascinating. And we talked about a good part of his life. So we really got into a little bit about his personal story,

1:44.6

which I found to be really fascinating. And we talked a little bit about this sort of old

1:49.9

version of masculinity that was represented or this sort of very one-dimensional type of masculinity.
