Summary

On this episode, Jazz and I discuss our experiences with brain trauma and car accidents. We talk about our emotions in the moment of our accidents, injuries sustained, our recovery journeys, and methods that helped our healing processes. We explain the magnitude of our concussions, and how we tried to jump into our past lives before fully recovering. We talk about the lessons learned, gratitude felt towards these life-altering experiences, and how they have shaped us into who we are today.

Hello everyone and welcome to Freckled Foodie and Friends, a podcast focused on making healthy

0:09.9

living approachable hosted by yours truly Cameron Rogers. Good morning. Happy Friday Freckled

0:16.7

Foodie family. I am really pumped about today's episode because I think it is just, it's

0:24.3

emotional. I cried at one point, but I think it's going to be really helpful for anyone who's

0:31.6

listening specifically, anyone who's dealt with any type of physical trauma and even more specifically,

0:36.8

anyone who is dealt with brain trauma. So today we are joined by Jazz Leaf, who is the founder of

0:44.1

Recipes for Health. She is a recipe creator, e-cookbook author, now virtual cooking class instructor.

0:52.3

She also was a spin instructor and has been a professional chef for some NBA players which is so

0:58.9

fucking cool. However, all of those things we don't really discuss even though Jazz is incredible

1:04.4

at all of them. This episode is way more focused on our mutual healing journey from brain trauma that

1:12.5

was induced from two car accidents. Well, two meaning we each experienced one. I do definitely

1:22.3

want to provide a trigger warning for anyone who has experienced a form of physical trauma, especially

1:30.8

if it is car related. I know my mom is going to hate this episode because we both share the details

1:38.0

of our accidents and it's not always easy. It's definitely not an easy story to tell. I don't know,

1:45.0

brings up a lot of emotion for me, but I'm so grateful that Jazz was so open and honest and vulnerable

1:52.2

to share not only the details of our accident, but also we dive in a lot to discuss the recovery

1:59.7

journey because there is no recovery like brain trauma recovery and it has been a difficult

2:07.6

and very long journey for us both and we share the ins and outs of all of that. So I hope this helps

2:16.6

anyone out there who is currently struggling with an injury like this and feeling alone because

2:21.4

we too very much have felt that way and you know sometimes still do.

2:26.7

Either way, I hope you guys enjoy as always, rate, review, subscribe, let me know your thoughts,

2:33.8

share on your Instagram stories, tag me and Jazz at recipes for health and you know just sit back,
