If we mess up, we will see the largest tax increase in the history of America on the watch when Republicans control the White House, the House, and the Senate.

Failure is not an option. I will not allow that to happen. One big beautiful bill, not two.

That's what Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith wants to happen with a reconciliation

package that's about to move through Congress. And he should want that, because tax cuts,

his baby, probably aren't making the cut if Senate Republicans and the House Freedom Caucus

get their way and split the bill in two. For the time being, Chairman Smith has a powerful

ally on his side, President-elect Donald Trump. But y'all know how often Trump changes his mind, and you don't need me to tell you how tight their margins are in the House right now.

Let me just say one person can kill any bill in the House of Representatives.

So what's going to happen? Who's going to decide what's in, what's out?

Where do things like no taxes on tips and salt fit in?

And does Smith have the juice with Trump and Speaker Mac Johnson to make it one big, beautiful

bill?

Those are some damn good questions, but do say so myself.
