Commenting on Japan within these last weeks fresh information, the Liberal Democratic Party's

Dovish Wing is headed by the President Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

However, the Dovish Wing has suddenly awakened to the threat of the People's Republic of

China, militarily, in East Asia throughout the Pacific and worldwide, and made decisions

that are striking.

Gordon, the decision by the Liberal Democratic Party to reawaken the Japanese defense

business, is that something that China counted on?

Was that in the mix as Xi Jinping has demonstrated his aggression these last years?

My sense is that Xi Jinping thought that he could manipulate Japanese public opinion

and the factions inside the Liberal Democratic Party so that Japan would not rearm in a

significant way.

It's just a guess because you would have thought that they would have foreseen this,

but I think the arrogance of the Chinese system right now is blinding them to practical realities

in Beijing.
