Coming up on Sword and Scale Daily, in a long island community, a veteran NYPD officer

and his fiance have been accused of watching his 8-year-old autistic son freeze to death

in a garage.

A Colorado man in jail on murder charges has been served a new warrant in connection with

the cold case from 2010.

Finally, in Alabama, a 16-year-old is accused of killing his mother and twin 13-year-old brothers.

On Friday, January 24th, investigators arrested 40-year-old Michael Valva and his fiance, 42-year-old

Angela Polina.

Both have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the January 17th death

of Michael's 8-year-old son, Thomas.

Thomas was found unresponsive at the family's long island home and later pronounced dead

at a hospital.

Michael had called 911 and stated that Thomas had fallen in the driveway while waiting

for the school bus and was unconscious.

When first responders arrived, Michael was performing CPR on the young boy in the basement of

the home.

Michael posted a go-fun me for funeral expenses for the boy, claiming that his son had died

in a tragic accident.
