Coming up on Sword and Scale Daily, a Texas man who went on the run on Christmas Eve

after allegedly murdering his girlfriend was shot and killed by law enforcement in Houston.

In Indiana, a mother was sentenced to seven years in prison for injecting fecal matter

into her son's IV bag while the team was being treated for cancer.

Finally, on Sunday, a man opened fire in a Texas church, killing two before being killed

by a member of the Church's Security Team.

The suspect has since been identified as a semi-transient who had visited the church several

times in the past to receive food donations and request cash.

ABC 13 Houston reports that on Saturday, December 28, 52-year-old Al Simon was shot and

killed by law enforcement officers in Herman Park in Houston.

Four days earlier, Al Simon allegedly murdered his girlfriend, 46-year-old Carolie Taylor

outside her uncle's house on Obsidian Drive.

According to court documents on Christmas Eve, which was also Taylor's birthday, about

15 relatives were gathered in the house for her birthday party.

Carolie's uncle told investigators that he noticed a black Jeep drive by his house, take

a sharp turn, and stop by the curb.

He said that Al Simon exited the vehicle, armed with a long barrel fire arm and a handgun,

and said to him, quote, I have a bone to pick.
