For years, Jamie Kilstein was something of a Hollywood insider, a comedian whose snarky hyper-progressive political views and

social media style embodied the worst stereotype of the armchair social justice warrior.

Or at least that's how Kielstein himself described his old life in a widely shared

quilette essay called I sold my soul on Twitter now I'm trying to win it back. Now Kielstein has got a new podcast and a new home. After years in LA, he's moved to Arizona, with no plans to return.

This week I called him up at his new home and asked him why he left

Hollywood and what he's learned from his girlfriend and her Red State parents.

We also talked about the recent Antifa beating of Quile editor Andy Nago in Portland, that time his
