I spoke to the Northern Ireland Secretary James Brokenshire, Labour's Shami Chacrobati,

Now it's been quite a week in Brexit land, desperate to secure agreement from the EU that we can move on to phase two talks where trade can be discussed.

Theresa May headed over to Brussels on Monday for lunch with Jean-Claude Juncker.

But just as they were sealing the deal, the PM had to step outside to receive a call from

Arlene Foster, the leader of the DUP, the Northern Irish Party that is, of course, propping

up her government. The deal was off. The DUP weren't willing to accept the terms.

For the rest of the week, the PM worked frantically trying to find a form of words acceptable to the DUP,

her own backbenchers, the EU and, of course, the Irish government.
