Christmas. I was joined by the immigration minister, Brandon Lewis, Labour frontbencher, Barry Gardner.

Three back bench MPs looked back on 2017 and ahead to next year and two experts gave us their views on trade.

This week we had confirmation that sufficient progress had indeed been achieved.

And Brexit is now moving on to phase two, reason you'd think for Theresa May to celebrate.

But it wasn't all fun in games.

On Wednesday, 11 Conservative MPs rebelled to secure a binding vote for Parliament

on the final deal negotiated with Brussels.

And no sooner was phase

one signed off, that attention turns to transition in trade, which of course could be

rather trickier. The EU says that Britain will need to accept all the rules with no say in making

them during any transition period, a demand likely to refue Conservative infighting.
