There is deep financial insecurity and there are multiple ways to respond to that as politicians.

We have seen currently those who are reaching for the old tools, blame, fear, othering.

And they have attracted voters. So what do we do? Two things. Our politics and our systems

have to be responsive to people's needs.

COVID's a really interesting section in the book, I think.

Did the anger surprise you?

It worried me deeply and it saddened me.

We have this war going on effectively between Israel and Iran.

Her six years as Prime Minister also meant dealing with the COVID pandemic

and the fury and conspiracy theories

around lockdowns and vaccines that came with it, many of which targeted her personally.

And then in January 2023, almost as suddenly as she had arrived on the global stage, she stood down.
