reporting live, my dear friend Lorenzo Fiore, he is in the village of Medulane, I'm told near Zuaz,

not far from the Dolomite Mountains. He's in the hills, the mountains of Switzerland.

Lorenzo, it is wonderful to speak to you on Swiss Day and we're going to serve a meal,

I learned from you, that is associated with the Swiss organizing their country in the 13th century.

What is Vagie, the national bread? What is it? Good evening to you.

Good evening, John, and good evening you told the radio listener. Well, Vagie is one of the

traditional breads produced by Swiss people. I mean, the Swiss people has a long tradition

in making breads with different type of flour with.

They have white bread, they have brown bread, they have dark bread, black bread. And veggie is a typical

bread that is a serve during this special day, the Swiss day, along with other recipe like raclette.

Raclette is a very tasty recipe because it's a melted Swiss cheese that is a topping,

boiled potatoes and eaten with a cucumber and maybe a bit of black pepper.

And maybe those that would like to have a heavier meal they can even

go with a brachshund that normally are grilled bradquist are a sort of Frankfurt

the virster now but here in Switzerland they are white not pink like typically what you can have with the hot dog in New York.

And they are very delicious as well.

So normally this is served also with very good beer.
