This is CBS Eye on the World. I'm John Batser. Migration, it is a global story. Yes, the

U.S. is pressed by the Central American Migration to the Mexican border, and then to many of

the large cities, especially in New York and the United States. But this story is the

same in the Mediterranean basin, Turkey and Greece and North Africa into the European

Union, even Belarus into Lithuania and the European Union. Now, however, we're

focusing on Italy because there is an island called Lampedusa, which is a

Sicilian island, and arriving there are tens of thousands of people coming from

Tunisia. Lorenzo Fiori of the Anselda Foundation is here to help me understand. I've

known about this story for some time. Italy has asked help for a long time from

the European Union. Sometimes there's talk, sometimes there are results, but right

The U.S. News and World Report says that there's a crisis in Lampedusa. This is a

new crisis. There's a photograph of what looked to be dozens of young men from

Africa, some in sandals, some in bare feet, waiting for a known. What is what is

the driver for this crisis? Why all these numbers? All of a sudden at Lampedusa.
