Chichita Sala, 29 years old, born in Rome, a journalist, an Italian journalist, detained by the authorities in Tehran

in the middle of December on December 19th.

This story is getting larger and larger, so I need Lorenzo's help.

Lorenzo, a very good day to you.

A very, very talented young woman reporting in Iran, an Italian citizen, is detained and now

detained in the worst prison that is available to the Iranian regime, Evan Prison, the prison where people

are tortured and hanged routinely over these decades. Why is she there? What did she do?

Or if she did nothing, why have they held her? Good evening to you. Good evening, John, and good

evening to all the radio listener. And let me tell you, happy new year to everybody tonight.

This is the first interview in 2025, so I'm very pleased to say, happy new year to everybody.

Well, let me tell you that Cecilia Sala, who, by the way, is the daughter of a friend of mine, member of my club,

is a very talented, as you said, a journalist, very young.

She is expert in Middle East affairs, and she was used to go to Iran.

I remember she did as one of the first, let's say, task that brought her to the attention of the Italian people and also

internationally in interview to the former president of the Iranian Republic, Madhinejad.

And she was in Iran in the beginning of December, likely to do a report about the situation in that country.

Meanwhile, an engineer from Iran traveling from Istanbul or Ankara to Switzerland, because

this guy has also a Swiss passport, as far understood, was arrested at Malpensa Airport in Milan

under a request of the US authority because of technology export being used in the drones that Iran have used,
