For example, I remember when my wife Cheryl and I decided to start trying for a child.

At that time, Cheryl was well established in her academic career.

She was a professor and had a great job at a university.

I was a newly licensed acupuncturist in private practice.

I was an entrepreneur.

Now being an entrepreneur has its perks.

In my humble opinion, the biggest perk is time flexibility.

The biggest downside is financial instability, especially in the beginning.
