And today we're going to talk a little bit about Pat's ThoughtWorks journey.

So the two of us have just, for anyone who's interested,

the two of us have just spent half an hour running around trying to find a microphone that works,

and eventually

turning off all the other electronic devices in the room, including my Bluetooth headphones,

which were finally the cause of the problem. So two of us as a couple of reasonably technical

guys are feeling frustrated by tech right now. You know, I'm not an RF engineer, so I don't feel too bad about it.

We kept spotting more things in the room that could be emitting RF noise and have finally

fixed all of that. So Pat and I have known each other for a long time now. I've been at

Thoughtworks for 16 years. How long have you been here?

Over 22. Over 22, right. So I'm a ThoughtWorks baby compared to Pat. You are, you are, yeah.

Where did we first meet in the UK? No, I think it was, I think you came in here for an away day.

I think we met one of those away days.

So an away day is a footwork's annual tradition of getting together and fixing all of the things that are wrong with the world.

And it's kind of like a mini internal conference. And we do a lot of that kind of thing. It's kind of important to our culture. So I'm not surprised that I met you at one of those.
