This is CBSI in the world. I'm John Batchel with Bill Rajo, Senior Fellow Foundation for

Defense of Democracy, my colleague and co-host. We turn our attention to the very, very strange

pictures that are coming from the Middle East. In Gaza, it looks like the war is over. Celebration on

both sides. In Lebanon, it looks like the war is reignited. And on the West Bank, well, that's clearly

business as usual, but then again, the war fighting in North suggests that the jihadists are getting a second win. We welcome David

Diyud of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, who can help us to these matters. We begin with

the hostages because there's been some success in getting back the lives of young people who

were captured by Hamas and have been abused for more than a year.

So far, what I see is young women being released from various holdings underground.

One report I saw was that they'd been held in an UNRWA shelter in some fashion,

suggesting that UNRWA remains as unreliable now as it did

when we first had news that UNRA executives were involved in the war fighting. However, there are

some hostages that have been returned, and the IDF is releasing Hamas terrorists. The question is, what about the deal?

Does it go forward? It has so many working parts. I need David's help. David, a very good evening

to you. Phase one, phase two, phase three. I spoke with your colleague, Jonathan Schenzer last

night, that last week, who was just back from the

region, and he conveyed the opinion, and I've soon seen this written as well, that no one of

authority in Israel believes that the hostage deal can go forward, that they all believe that

the war will restart. Where are we now, terms of Hamas getting back its killers and the Israelis
