Gaza, the fog of war.

Gaza, the allegation made by enemies of the United States and Israel is that Israel has occupied Gaza and must end its occupation

of Gaza.

I welcome Cliff May, the founder and president of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy's

Cliff, in the summer of 2005, I was invited to broadcast from Gaza inside the Gaza

Strip, beautiful part of the southern part of the long corridor

along the Mediterranean, beautiful beaches.

And where I was was farming, flower and vegetable farming by the Israeli farmers who lived there.

It wasn't an occupation, it was money-making.

And the negotiation by the Sharon government was to turn all that vast enterprise,

all those greenhouses, over to the Palestinians of Gaza City, then being administered by Fatah, all very

correct with Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority. What

happened after that is the nightmare we're now living in. An outfit called

Hamas which was sworn to the destruction of things around it, everything, also destroyed those greenhouses and those

farms and all of that prosperity all turned into I believe a terror camp sometime afterwards when Hamas then swept away

Fata and took over the governance of Gaza, North Gaza and South Gaza. Today we're living with the result of that violence and that

organization. So the word occupied is meant as propaganda cliff again and again and it is a disappointment to me that people
