Number one. A temporary ceasefire began in Lebanon after Israel agreed to a U.S.-backed deal. When a two-week ceasefire between the U.S.

and Iran started earlier this month, Israel argued the truce did not apply to Lebanon. The U.N.

estimates that Israeli ground operations and airstrikes have displaced more than a million Lebanese people

from their homes. Yesterday,

President Donald Trump announced that Israel had agreed to stop strikes on Lebanon for 10 days.

The agreement was between Israel and the Lebanese government, not Hezbollah, the armed group

that has been exchanging fire with Israel. It's unclear if Hezbollah will recognize the ceasefire.

But the deal was part of a wider push to end the war in Iran.
