France's president Emmanuel Emmanuel Macron, has given Israel an ultimatum over Gaza from the European Union.

If we don't see a response that matches the humanitarian situation in the next few hours or days,

we will obviously have to take a tougher collective stance.

And Macron says the eventual recognition of a Palestinian state was, quote,

not only a moral duty, but a political necessity.

Meanwhile, Israel has accepted a new proposal from U.S. envoy Steve Whitkoff for a ceasefire with Hamas.

That's according to an Israeli official, who told CNN, it calls for 10 living hostages

and 18 deceased hostages being held in Gaza to be returned, as well as a 60-day truce.

But a senior Hamas official told CNN, the group has responded to the proposal with three

counterpoints, and a member of its political bureau said the latest framework doesn't address

demands from the people in Gaza to stop the war and famine.

Law enforcement agencies in the U.S. are under pressure, as the Trump administration

pushes them to arrest more migrants.

People familiar with the matter say a surge of agents and officers across the federal government

are focusing their attention on arrests and deportation efforts, which is putting a strain on

resources in some cases. CNN's Priscilla Alvarez has new reporting that those sources say the administration
