The beginning of the horror of the massacre of human beings in Israel by Hamas gangsters.

I welcome Cliff May, the president and founder of the Foundation

for the Defense of Democracy, who has visited the Nova musical site since

the massacre. Cliff, a very good evening to you. What does it look like? Is it an open

terrain? Is it a farmland? Good evening to you. Good evening to you. It's, you know, it's part of the negative desert. It's just a few miles from the Gaza border.

The Israeli view had been that they have a high-tech fence and that it would be impossible to break through, it was a very that it was

secure. They were wrong about that. It was a low-tech breakthrough with bulldozers and explosives

and hitting the watchtowers.

It's dry, there's a few, there are few trees but kind of scattered and what you have now is a sort of

of ghostly presence of the victims because you have a small forest of holes atop the poles are pictures of the victims.

Most of the victims are in the pictures smiling.

They are young.

They're very much full of life and of course they were all cut down

rather brutally in this massacre and the mass rapes and the abductions.

People walk around the site and look at the pictures, look at the little where they can learn

a little about various victims, people leave flowers, people plant Israeli flags into the very sandy soil.

Again, it's a kind of ghostly place, is what I would say.

This was the beginning of something that is very large and it's important.
