The Chancellor Rishi Sunak is seeing his family's tax affairs brought under serious scrutiny

and many in Westminster are wondering if he can kiss any prime ministerial ambitions

goodbye.

On Sky News, Trevor Phillips resumes the interviewer's chair once more to question the policing

Minister Kit Malt House. He asked Malt House about the non-domicide status of Sunak's

wife, Akshad Murty, who had not been paying UK taxes on the income she earned from the Indian

Company Infosys.

I wonder if he's listening to the many people in this country who are furious at the

revelation that he's raising taxes while his wife made a choice to pay tax not to the

country that her husband asked to make these sacrifices, not to the country that put a roof

over her head but to India.

Now, I know it's legal and all that. You don't need to explain that to me, but politically

just a terrible mistake, massive tinier here.

Well, first of all, it's worth pointing out that as Ms Murty said, she paid UK tax and

all her UK income, but you will have seen her statement. She accepted that there was

a sense of disquiet about the situation and she's moved to correct it.
