Is remarriage considered adultery? If I get remarried, am I committing a sin?

It's a question that a lot of people have on their minds.

We live in a culture today, in spite of the fact that divorce rates are declining yet it's still prevalent

marriage is a lifelong commitment and many break their vows there are many

components that are involved in that so many people come to Christian faith

with this baggage of divorce others while being Christians experienced divorce

and I don't need to be the one to tell you the divorce is painful.

Even when necessary, it does mark the death of a relationship.

Now I want to look at today the Old Testament, the New Testament,

as well as what Paul taught and address this issue.

If you marry a divorced person, you commit a cent.

Now let's start from the beginning.

Divorce in the Old Testament.

God's original design for marriage was permanent.

It was not something that is supposed to be conditional until we don't like each other or until we're not compatible anymore.

Genesis chapter 2 verses 24 through 25 makes it very clear.

God intended marriage to be permanent. Later on, when Israel was formed or was being formed as a nation,

divorce was permitted. And Jesus in Matthew 19 actually reveals the real reason that divorce was permitted, which was due to the hardness of people's hearts.

So divorce was not God's perfect will. Jesus makes it very clear. It was concession, more of like a permissible will.
