When is it necessary or respectful to supply closure after a relationship and when is it just a waste of time?

That is the question and I feel like I go back and forth on that

made up my mind because I feel like we talk about if closure is

necessary a lot and I've always been on the side of once something ends what does it really

matter isn't it doesn't this depend on the time of the relationship too?

Like if you're going out with somebody for a year and a half, you need closure.
