Is it possible to get into a physical altercation at work but not get fired because technically

it's not your fault.

That is what one of my friends is going through right now. And he's

afraid that he's going to lose his job of over 20 years because of a

customer who actually put their hands on him first. You hear this all the time

now, all the time that if somebody is like

shoplifting and there's an employee that tries to stop them, puts their hands on

them, they get fired. Right. So he does a customer service job where it's people are upset quite often for a variety of reasons and obviously you're supposed to try to keep everybody calm. But in this situation there wasn't really much he could do.

So the situation that occurred was there was a guy who was supposed to be picking up his

child.

So I guess when you are going to pick up your child you have to write down the person's name

specifically that will be picking up the child. You can't write down someone else's name

and then just show up and say but I'm the child's dad I should be able to get my kid.

I think that's a reasonable request. Exactly. So the guy shows up and he's like there to pick up his daughter and for whatever reason he didn't write down his name he wrote down his wife's name and I guess his wife normally picks up the daughter.

But on this particular day, the wife couldn't make it.
