1:06.5 | define it. So let me take a stab at it. And let me just give you two different perspectives. |
1:12.8 | If by critical race theory, you mean an honest discussion of American history, the fact that we had |
1:21.5 | slavery, that it was a great evil, that we fought a civil war over it, we abolished slavery. |
1:26.7 | But even after that, there was Jim Crow |
1:28.7 | laws, segregation for 100 years that suppressed African Americans. And then to discuss today, |
1:36.1 | we have freedom. Slavery is abolished, segregation is abolished, Jim Crow laws are abolished, but there can still be |

1:53.1 | those negative things could still be hurting or affecting people today. So an honest discussion of that, |
