1:08.9 | Well let's start here, you know, in terms of you and your background in the field of water. |
1:14.2 | What got you into this particular specialty in the first place? |
1:19.0 | I was studying muscle mainly, which I guess is relevant to many of the people listening. |
1:28.9 | And so let me give you a background, the muscle contraction, the ideas about how muscle contracts |
1:39.0 | are, ideas that date, oh maybe half a century back and we're talking about the molecular |
1:46.2 | mechanisms involving proteins, the proteins, the actin and myos and such. |
1:52.6 | And there's been a theory that's been around. |
1:54.6 | And if you look at any book or any textbook, you can see some very nice artistic drawings |
2:02.0 | of those proteins that mechanistically do certain things. |
2:08.1 | And the odd thing about that is that they leave out the water. |
