Today, we're sharing my conversation with Tom Carter III, a former high school quarterback who became a standout quarterback at the University of Notre Dame in the early 1990s.

That is, after he learned to tackle and stopped believing Coach Lou Holtz would kick him off the team.

In 1993, he was drafted to Washington in the first round of the NFL draft and spent nine years in the league.

Eventually, an injury confirmed a decision to leave the game.

Still, he returned to professional

football a few years later, joining the NFL Players Association as the director of Players Affairs.

He held that spot for a decade and a half. Lastly, our conversation delves into his role as

CEO of the Shield Foundation, where he discusses his involvement with Project Land, which

stands for life after Neuradame.

I'm here with Tom Carter III, who played defensive back at Neuradame from 1990 to 1992,

before becoming a first-round NFL draft pick and playing in the league for nearly a decade.

After that, Tom, you've embarked on a very interesting career.

According to your LinkedIn, at least you've worked a wide range of careers, such as substitute

and special education teacher, been the director of player affairs for the NFL Players Association.

Today, you're the founder and CEO of Carter Allo Consulting, the CEO of the

Shield Foundation, which includes being the president of Project Land, all of which I look forward
