on the same topic there was a press conference call for the full media and i'll get to that in a

second and pete bavakua talked or took questions in fairness he took questions it's not like he

just started speaking but he took questions and all the questions revolved around the playoff snub

and the bowl decision.

Yeah, it did.

And it was billed as Pete's annual end of the year presser.

He did do the similar press conference last year.

It also coincided with Marcus's new contract extension, like was within maybe 24 to 48 hours of that Sunday night football announcement that Marcus and Notre Dame had agreed to a new long-term extension that pushed him back out to the full six-year term.

It's certainly been debated and will continue to be debated as to the effectiveness of that.

I do think that Pete Bovacqua wanted to get up there and he'd made some national media

rounds, so to speak, but I think he wanted to stand in the trench and let Irish

Nation know that he was ticked off.

He was really furious.

I had somebody tell me within the last week that we would be stunned to know and maybe we wouldn't,

but we'd be stunned to know how closely he follows recruiting in Notre Dame football, particularly,
