This is Irish Illustrated Insider. It's Monday, August 5th, and we're excited to be here today because for the first time in three and a half months, we can actually comment on something that didn't happen three and a half months ago.

We were at practice at Calver for the start of Nordames's 2019 preseason on Sunday.

And I am, by the way, Tim Priestson with Tim O'Malley and Pete Sampson here for Irish

Illustrated Insider.

And just your thoughts, guys, on some of the things that stood out to you in Culver on Sunday.

I mean, Kyle Hamilton, I don't think that you can undersell how good he was.

You know, and I realize there's a hesitancy as, like, as soon as somebody is pushed forward as impressive and turned your head, they're like, hey, you know, it's just one practice.

But I don't know.

I don't know how many practices I've watched in 18 years where I saw a safety make three interceptions.

And I don't, I understand the notion that like, hey, two of them were tipped.

I don't know how many practices I've watched where Notre Dame's had a safety who knew where the ball was going to go and then got there with enough speed.

And I sure as hell have not seen many practices where safety made an interception

like Hamilton's first one.

Right.

Which was straight Taylor Mays Armando Allen swallowing up ground like animal planet style.

He was really, really good.

And the other thing I would add on to that is the coaching staff has intentionally

roomed him with Alohi Gilman for Culver.

Who was also really good?

Yeah.

That's not an accident.

They expect huge things from him this year.
