Iraq, illegal immigration and the midterm elections.

Hello again, I'm Arminolny, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International, a daily look at the issues.

Americans care about most. President Bush says he knows Americans are not satisfied with the war in Iraq. He says he's not

satisfied either, and that American forces are shifting tactics in order to win. On To the Point,

we'll hear about the political implications of a lengthy news conference less than two weeks

before voters go to the polls. Also today, illegal immigration

has not been resolved by the White House in Congress. It's a major issue in many campaigns.

Between competing calls for guest worker programs and sealing the border, we'll hear what it's

like for the border patrol to do its job. Will the question bring Hispanic voters out to the polls?

Will African Americans vote to protect jobs now going to undocumented workers?
