I'm John Bachelor with Jonathan Schanser, the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy.

Attention to the IDF operating in what is called the West Bank, today in Sumaria, especially

Janine, especially. A smuggler's route, I'm told Jonathan, can that be shut down or are we looking at the arms flowing

into the hands of Islamic Jihad indefinitely? Well you know it's it's an interesting

thing but you know if you were watching the news over the weekend the there was a

Jordanian terrorist that crossed the border and killed three Israelis at the Allen B bridge, the primary crossing between Israel and Jordan.

This is the culmination of a few things that I think are worth noting.

First, the Jordanian rhetoric, the official government Jordanian rhetoric, has been atrocious.

It's hard to distinguish what we hear from Hyman Safady, the Foreign Minister of Jordan, from the foreign minister of Iran, for that matter.

It is vitriolic and it has been consistent for the last 11 months since the war began.

You wouldn't know that there was a peace agreement between Jordan and Israel.

At the same time, we see Jordan under significant pressure right now, primarily from Shiite militias operating in Syria, and you have to remember there is a border between Jordan and Syria, and these Shiite militias have been smuggling drugs and weapons and cash and sometimes people over the

border into Jordan. The drugs have stayed in Jordan. It's primarily

Captain and there is an epidemic of sorts of this drug across the Middle East and Jordan is now

succumbing to it as well after years of I think it was more of a way station

rather than a financial market for selling the drug.

But then there's the other part of this, which is the weapons and the cash and even some fighters

have found their way into the West Bank and so over the last several months we have

watched a significant escalation of IDF operations in the West Bank. They are arresting fighters, they are finding cashies of weapons. It is non-stop right now and there is a lot of concern that the West Bank could spin out of control.

Towns like Tulkaram and Janine are the two primary ones in the West Bank,

but there are still others. And this is the forgotten front. Israel's fighting seven fronts right now.
