Summary

Are the latest headlines about Iran a sign that the end times are near? Esau, producer Mike, and pastor Sharon Miller examine why Christians often interpret global conflict through the lens of biblical prophecy and why the book of Revelation may challenge that instinct. Then, the group talks about a viral cultural moment involving a McDonald's CEO whose awkward burger bite sparked debate about authenticity and leadership in the influencer age. What does it say about our culture when even CEOs are expected to perform relatability online? Sharon also introduces the "relationship gap," a trend suggesting dating apps may actually reduce the differences between people who end up together. Plus, defending movie trailers and more Disney debates.

1:44.3

And I was thinking about every time I come to you last, I was like, I want to go to Mike first. And then I was thinking, I'm not sure that's the best idea. But joining the podcast today. We have co-host and producing Mike. Thank you for coming on the podcast. I just want to say we also have a special guest. Sharon will get to you in a second. But we have Sarah from your church, your worship pastor at your church. And I find it interesting that she's been working at your church for a long time. Yeah, it is. That's true. Has never shown up to watch a podcast recording. No. But she's doing some work for the Holy Post. She's working with me. And like the first day of her working with me, she's like, can I listen to you, Mike, on the podcast? And I just like, I just thought it was interesting that she met me for a day and was like, I need to observe this podcast, has worked with you for six months and never got here. Let me tell you one of the things I love about my church is how unconcerned they are with anything that I do. I can't get them to read a single article that I write. They listen to my podcast. I'm happy they listen to the sermon on Sunday. So asking them to consume extra Esau-Micollic content, my other content, that's probably way too much. We're also joined by Sharon Heidi Miller, a co-pastor of Bright City Church in North Carolina. Where is it, Raleigh? That's right. Durham. Durham. Oh, I was so close. I was so close. Okay. So I wanted to open up the podcast because, you know, I'm a fan of the arts. Yeah. I don't know if you know this.
