My name is John Batchel. Jonathan Shanzer, the executive director of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy, is here to help me go through what we can see of the battlefield, given all eyes are on Tehran and the president of the United States and the Prime Minister of Israel about a ceasefire.

However, you mentioned hostages, John.

Jonathan, the announcement yesterday was positive in that three more bodies were recovered from the original hostage taken in Gaza.

And yet again, this morning on F.T.

A lengthy report about how Israeli soldiers open fire on crowds lining up for food,

how children are starving and dying in hospitals,

how they only have one package of lentils for a widow with six children,

on and on and on.

I noted everybody's testimony was on a cell phone. However, that is a message that goes right to Europe, right to, in fact, the conflict

that existed before the Iranian matter.

Is this something that can be dealt with, Jonathan, or do we just write it out? Because the FT presents

Israel as a monster. Well, I think, you know, we continue to see people trying to paint Israel as

as a monster. I think what needs to be understood here, John, is that the battle that has just

transpired in the skies over Iran over the last week and a half. This is, I think,

the clearest indication that one can have of the unification of these fronts, that there

have been seven fronts where Israel has been fighting. It began with Gaza, and we are now returning

to Gaza. In other words, this expanded to Lebanon, to Syria, to Iraq, to the West Bank, to Yemen, and to Iran itself.

And right now, I think as potentially the Iran front begins to subside, all eyes are training back to the place where this started, the epicenter. And that is,

of course, the Gaza Strip. Things are not good there because this has been a territory at war.

Hamas has remained a modicum of control, even as it has been militarily picked apart by the Israelis.

organized fashion in terms of administration of the territory and the hijacking of food in
