Program long a subject of international concern, and now with the threat by the

Ayatollah to attack Israel directly, a concern in specific about where that program is and can it be rushed in some

fashion to deliver up a bomb. I welcome Andrea Stricker for the Foundation for the Defense of democracies to help me understand

recent reporting from the US government and also the Wall Street Journal and other distinguished

publications about where Iran is with its nuclear

suspect nuclear weapons program. Andrea a very good evening to you a

bombshell is how you characterize the US intelligence communities' revelations about Iran's nuclear weapons and the suspect program.

You note that the reporting is obliged by Congress and the US government wants to keep the American people informed.

Where has it been and what was or what is the bombshell?

So this Office of National Intelligence report

was due to Congress. It was a little bit overdue required

under the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act. But the bombshell is that it

dropped a key phrase that OD and I has used every year since 2019 in its

global threat assessments, particularly the finding that Iran is not currently undertaking the key nuclear weapons development activities

necessary to produce a testable nuclear device.

And they just had repeated that phrase in as recently as March 2024.

So in other words, something has happened in the interim
