Summary

Jackson Heidesch is a kid on fire.

This past indoor season, he won the Hoka Misfit 2-mile in a historic time of 8:42.6. He then went on to place second at NBNI in the 2-mile and two days later won the mile in stunning fashion diving for the win and a 4:02.25. This past fall on the grass, Jackson won NXR Northeast and placed 5th at NXN. He has also won back-to-back individual and team state titles. Jackson has etched his name into the Iowa high school history books through these historic performances.

In this conversation, Jackson takes us through his history in the sport, from a freshman who was just starting to gain interest in the sport to a 4:02 miler with plans of breaking the four-minute-mile barrier.  We also discuss what made Duke stand out from other schools, winning his first national meet in dramatic fashion (reference image), his goals for this upcoming year, how he wants to be remembered in Iowa history, how he's handling March Madness Ls, the power of training through Iowa winters, and much more!

Jackson is an extremely eloquent speaker who was delightful to have a conversation with! His stories and experiences in the sport were both fun and inspiring to listen to. Needless to say, make time to listen to this episode, you won't regret it.
