Well, I like to welcome back our good friend, my friend, Adam Salinger, who is going to make my choice, I think, even more confusing

what I want to do for next year. Because every time Adam talks to me, tells me about these great

trips he goes on and these wonderful places to hike. And I started saying, wow, I really want to go

there. But, you know, Adam is always, it's great to have you on the podcast uh welcome back

thanks martin it is always a pleasure to hang out with you and and chat about anything backpacking

so i'm always looking forward to it yeah it is it's always a lot of fun always a lot of fun talking to you

today we're going to talk about the eastern sierras.

And I've done some research on them.

And I've been through the desolation wilderness.

And you live out in that area.

You're pretty close to that region.

That's like your playground.

It sounds like for hiking.

That's your, like when I lived in new york it was

the cat skills for you it's the eastern sierras so why don't you start off by for those that

aren't familiar tell us a little bit about the eastern sierras the eastern sears the eastern

sears are are my playground indeed i have the the northern edge is only about an hour and a half from my home,

and the southern edge is about six hours from my home.

They run about 400 miles north to south, from Lake Tahoe area down to the

Tahatchapie area in the south.

And they're only about 70 miles wide on average, sometimes much less than that.

So they're a huge, huge area.
