Hey, deserving listeners. You might remember a couple of months ago, I published an interview titled

0:05.4

Interview with a pedophile in which I interviewed someone who went by the name of Jay. That's not his

0:12.2

real name. By the way, major trigger warning for this whole episode similar to the interview with Jay.

0:18.7

If you have triggers and PTSD and trauma or you think you might have triggers and trauma regarding

0:26.7

sexual abuse or abuse of children, then I would absolutely not listen to this episode and talk

0:31.8

with your therapist first before listening because this kind of content could harm you in very

0:37.7

profound ways that I do not want to happen to you. So just be careful. Anyway, so in my interview

0:46.3

with Jay, he identifies as a no map or non-offending minor attracted person, meaning that he is sexually

0:55.9

romantically attracted to children, but is non-offending, meaning he has not offended. He has not

1:02.8

harmed children and is trying to not harm children. But he has these inner urges, these inner

1:10.8

feelings, inner attractions. And in that interview, it was a long interview, very interesting interview.

1:17.6

And I learned a lot and furthered my understanding and my compassion for people who

1:24.5

suffer from this attraction. Now, of course, there are people who have attractions to children and

1:32.9

will commit offenses and will abuse and harm children. Sometimes dozens, if not hundreds of children,

1:40.1

and these people need to be sanctioned. And we have every reason in the world to be upset at

1:46.3

these people and to judge these people and to shame these offenders because is highly traumatizing

1:52.6

the children. But to those individuals who suffer from this attraction, they didn't choose to be

1:59.0

attracted to children in all likelihood, seemingly. And they are doing everything they can to prevent

2:05.7

themselves from harming children. We don't need to stigmatize them. And the broader topic is that

2:13.1

if we are going to reduce the abuse to children, then obviously we're interested in that, right?

2:20.4

Then we have to reduce the stigma about people being attracted to children. Just having an

2:26.3

attraction does not mean you automatically will act on it. And if we lump all people who have those
