So question number one, what is a clean fast versus a dirty fast for you?

Well, I will say that I don't find it to be controversial at all

when you study the science of it. Once you understand what our goals are in the fasted state

and why we're fasting, you would never want to dirty fast. I actually don't think dirty fasting is a

thing. And we understood that fasting was so much more than just

because you were eating less food. It's got a lot of metabolic and hormonal effects. But

in order to access the, you know, the positive benefits that you're looking for, you need to

make sure that you're actually fasting. So I like to think of it, you know, with three, three things

that we're trying to accomplish during the fast.

First of all, we're trying to keep insulin low.

Insulin in the medical literature is referred to as anti-lippeletic.

That means that it's anti-fat burning.

So if you have high levels of insulin, it's going to be very hard for you to access your stored body fat.

So you want to have low levels of insulin. So we keep insulin low by not having our brain think

that food is incoming. That's literally what insulin does for us. Your brain says, ooh, something sweet
