We just wrapped up another episode of Meet the Press where we debuted, perhaps the most

we'd like to think the most influential national poll that exists.

It's the NBC News poll and it's also the end of August.

Primary season's just about over.

Florida, New York will check in and finish things up pretty soon and it means a couple of

things.

And now almost here and yes, we've got a lot in our poll to unpack.

So we're going to unpack all these numbers a bit deeper with my partner in prime, Mark Murray,

the senior political editor, co-author of First Read.

And of course, plays a big part in all of our data collection and political reporting.

All right, look, I think the, you know, there's a lot of things when you can make the headline

of the poll.

So I'm going to without prompting, you know, we did not, we did not prompt each other on

this because you, but to me, the most, to me, the most important number in this poll is

the fact that interest in the election is as high as it is in already in August, the highest

we've ever recorded this early in a midterm or I think a presidential, but definitely a midterm

and that both parties are tied on this.

For me, that's the big headline and it sort of reinforces this feeling that these midterms

are truly up for grabs.
