This is episode 1,695. Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I honor you for being here as you get ready to meditate.

In today's episode, you are going to be guided as you layer together the different meditation techniques we've explored all week long in our theme about clarity, mental clarity.

How to manage your time online so that you protect your brain's health.

You may not have realized that clicking around online, going from one device to the next,

checking messages on email and by text, and Googling this and that is actually reprogramming your brain.

And so as you meditate, you are helping to repair the damage by activating your prefrontal lobes.

And this will help you to manage stress so much better. And that's really what the mindless Googling and time spent online is all about.

It's just you seeking stimulus and it becomes addictive.

And when you allow yourself to go online and focus on what it is you need,

some information or to read something that is going to be helpful to you,

or even for entertainment.

And allow yourself a rich experience by focusing on that one thing while you're online. If you're checking your

email messages, focus on just that and then take a break and do something else. And then you

can come back and then you could do some work. Maybe check your email just twice a day, maybe in the morning,

maybe again in the afternoon or the evening.

And allow yourself to engage in real communication

with people in your world face to face.

This is going to be the best thing for your brain's health as well as for mental clarity.
