Yo, technology. What is it all about? I mean, I think what's interesting about these newer

generations is how insistent they are on authenticity and integrity when it comes to the product

that they're consuming. And it's sort of like mass scale artisanal interest. It's not interesting if it

doesn't have an artisanal sense to it. And now that I've appreciated that artisanal quality,

I want it everywhere I go.

This week on the program, we have a two for one.

I sat down with Danny Reimer and Jan Hammer, who are both partners at Index Ventures, the venture capital firm.

They invited me over to their very sleek offices in San Francisco, and we sat down and talked

about a whole load of things.

I mean, you may not know index, but you'll definitely know a few of their big hits, including

companies like Skype, way back in the day.

Sonos, Dropbox, deliveroo, Etsy, JustEat, Facebook, blue bottle coffee, etc.

You get the idea.

Now, Index is also interesting because it's one of the very few companies or very few venture

capital firms.

That's truly transatlantic.

So they started out in Switzerland many, many years ago, then went to London, then opened an office

in San Francisco about a decade ago.

And they have a pretty even split now of companies between Europe and the US.

So that gives them a bit of a different perspective on kind of what they look for,

things that are important to them, what makes a good company, etc.
