Thank you so much for checking out this episode of Cruise Radio. Very happy to have you here, my friend. A review of Royal Caribbean's, what is it, Independence of the Seas this week. Sorry, I'm not here in L.A. for work recording this in a hotel room. And staff writer Richard Sims on deck with cruise news. Jumping to him now. Hey, Richard.

Hey, Doug. We start this week with news

that, well, the search for a cruise ship crew member has been called off. Yeah, this past Saturday,

a crew member from Norwegian Breakaway went overboard from one of the ship's upper decks as the ship

was on its way back to Boston, which is where it's sailing out of right now.

Keep in mind that the ship spans 18 decks, and that makes it about 200 feet tall. So that's a very,

very big fall. Security footage showed the person going overboard and breakaway immediately

changed course to initiate a search. By the next morning,

the Coast Guard had stepped in to assist and eventually sent the ship back on its way to Boston.

As we record this, the search has been called off and the crew member is presumed dead. Of course,
