Well, thank you, everybody, for joining us live here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy,

as is getting colder out there, but we still have a good number of people inside the shrine.

We're grateful that you could join us for wherever you are around the world.

I'm very thankful as you could take the time to learn more about our faith with us.

And today we have a really incredible story of one of the saints that we hear in the Roman canon, but we don't always know

a lot about it. Remember this? Felicity, Perpetua, Agatha, Lucy, Agnes, Cecilia, Anastasia, and

all the saints. That's

Eucharistic Prayer 1. So today we're going to be talking about one of those saints. Amazing

story. And I was telling the group here that was in before we began the live stream that, you know,

I was doing 90-minute talks, and then I cut it down to 15 minutes so I think the 90 minutes were way too long and the 15 were way too short so I got a lot of emails and comments from you and so we're going to make this definitely in between I think this would be around 45 minutes, 40 minutes. So I think we're manageable,

and we're grateful again that you could join us. The talk today is St. Lucy, who we hear,

as we said in Eucharistic Prayer 1, but what do we know about her and how can she help us today?

The story is amazing. And so you'll, you want to not

miss this one with us. So let us begin with the prayer in the name of the Father and of the Son

and to the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, we ask you send the Holy Spirit down upon us to open

our minds and hearts to receive the grace you wish to bestow,

the grace to lead us all to eternal life, and through the intercession of St. Lucy, whose feast

day we celebrate today, in which you give saints the great merits to be able to help intercede

for us on their feast days. We ask her because she is the patron

saint of eyes amongst other things to help us see clearly, to know your will and to follow it.

And we ask all this through Christ, our Lord. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
