I am Father Chris Ailar here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy and welcome back to

explaining the faith a little bit shorter version, but we've added more time back on because of

your request. So I'm very grateful that you're joining us. Today we have a really interesting talk

that I never really knew there was so much to it until

I got to seminary, learned about end-of-life issues, and this affects everybody.

And that is per church teaching, what are we allowed to do regarding organ donation and donating our bodies to science. What is Christian teaching on this?

And the Catholic Church say about this. And so we want you to join with us as we explore these

fascinating concepts. And do you know what they do with your body sometimes when you donate it to

spirit down upon us we pray for all those who are sick.

And those who are contemplating, donating organs or bodies to science, we ask that you guide them

and that they may be open to doing what is charitable and always doing your will. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

So we're talking about organ donation and body donation to science. And, you know, few know what the church teaches about this. So, you know,

you should be asking yourself the question, if you haven't already, will donating my body to

science or an organ dishonor the body God gave me? They're psychological and spiritual concerns that we should be asking.

Well, this effect the resurrection of the body, how I am resurrected. And the church's response is

the resurrection does not depend on the body's current state.

Now, you might say, but Father, you just did a talk on cremation, and that church doesn't prefer it.

Yes, but that's more because it's pagan practice, and then people spread the ashes,
