Let's talk today about being in charge versus being in control.

They can seem seductively similar. Am I right? Think about it. We hear things like, I'm in control of my life. I'm in control of my destiny. I'm in control of my kids. I'm in control of

etc. etc. etc.

And that can sound like it's powerful. It can make us feel like, yeah, we got all figured out.

But the reality is, being in control is an illusion.

No one is actually in control.

Think about it.

If you think yes, you know, I'm in control of my life. I'm in control of this I'm in control of that

There are so many factors that you simply can't control right you can't control how your kids behave You can't control what the weather is you can't control, right? You can't control how your kids behave, you can't

control what the weather is, you can't control what the traffic is, you can't

control what's going on in the news, but you can still be in charge of what it is that you are able to run.

I heard this expression once.

If life is, say say 100% of this always on dynamic life's changing

this that you know every day looks different we might only be actually in charge of 20% of that 100%, but we can give a hundred to our 20%.

So just say you're writing a book for example, you are in charge of the time you set aside to write the book.

You're in charge of marketing your book. You're in charge of the book itself, every single word, the content.

But you're not in control of how people find your book, what they have to say about it, whether or not they buy it, whether

or not they like it, you can be in charge of the actions that you are able to take the lead on,

but what happens from there, that we have to surrender. So think about this from a

children point of view. Right, you're in charge of what's in the fridge, what the day-to-day scheduling is, what your kid generally
